I'm Margaret Powers — Peg to most people — a data analyst by trade, a lifelong learner by nature, and now, somewhat to my own surprise, a debut novelist.
The Mount Edna Trilogy began with a mistake. I was researching my mother's side of the family — the line that runs from mother to daughter to daughter again — when a stray misreading planted an image in my mind: a mountain, and a fire carried down through generations of women. I couldn't shake it, and eventually it became a world of its own.
Echoes of Fire is Book One of that trilogy, written for my daughters and for every woman who has ever wondered what she carries forward from the women before her.
When I'm not writing, you'll find me leading the drum line in my local Scottish pipe band, hunting for rocks in the Vermont hills and beyond, sewing a kilt, or testing a new recipe in the kitchen. I live in Vermont with my husband of over 40 years.
